It's okay when you don’t always handle it well or lie in bed, scrolling to avoid things a while, or let yourself feel a little dramatic before trying to fix anything. When working with the nervous system and understanding chronic pain, I’ve learned that feeling low isn’t always a mindset problem, sometimes it’s a body that doesn’t feel safe or is simply overwhelmed.
So instead of forcing productivity, try to respond with a bit more compassion. Remind yourself that rest can be regulation, that slowing down can be healing, and that small, gentle actions, like stepping outside or taking one deeper breath, can signal safety to your system. It’s not perfect resilience. It’s soft strength.
